I + D

MSI’s technological capacity and know-how is supported by its extensive experience, acquired  over many years of developing engineering and control projects, both nationally and internationally.

MSI has an R&D&I department where it invests more than 8% of its income on R&D.

MSI’s technological development is due to a clear vocation for research and development, contained in its Strategic Plan.
This activity is developed in collaboration with universities, technology centres and companies both nationally and internationally, in accordance with different local, national and European programmes.

MSI develops R&D activity principally in the metal, water, energy and paper sectors.

The R&D projects undertaken by MSI receive support from the Basque Government’s Department of Industry and Tourism (Gaitek y Innotek) , the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce (Profit), the Environment Ministry, the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI ),  different European programmes and currently from the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

MSI has experience in undertaking and coordinating European R&D projects, having participated in about 15 projects, out of which 3 were coordinated and led by MSI.

The following are some of the projects MSI is currently participating in, either as leader or partner:
